Miranda's Bio & Tutoring Experience

To complete my degree, I also studied, close read, and wrote analytically on literary devices, perspectives of authors through time period, and analyzed social, political, and gendered contexts. I love writing and reading poetry, both as a form of personal expression and as a way of encapsulating a moment with the perfect phrasing to relate the beauty in our imaginations and in the world. I also can help with misunderstanding of grammar and come up with strategies for fluid and comprehensive writing techniques. As a student, I studied my second language extensively, and I know how hard it is to understand the grammar rules, the new vocabulary, and the intricacies of a new language. Together, we can come up with great studying strategies that are both productive and fun. I can provide feedback to help you or your child revise essays or creative writings to become a writer with tools to express their perspective in the most clear and persuasive way possible. I also volunteer my time translating, tutoring in ESL, and aiding where possible in community events for Latinos. It is my goal in life to help in the non profit sector and in education as well.

Miranda's Education & Certifications

I am a recent graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, a minor in English literature, and a Second Language Acquisition Teaching (SLAT) certificate. While studying and interning for the SLAT certificate, I taught a course with other student teachers designed for college student second-language learners looking to improve their English conversation skills. I also volunteered as a conversation circle leader with an (English as a Second Language) ESL Language Circle that functions as a resource for people looking to practice and improve.
