Miranda's Bio & Tutoring Experience
Throughout elementary school, high school, and college, I found that most subjects came quite easily to me. I frequently tutored friends for free in elementary school and high school, especially in mathematics courses. Once I was in college, I tutored fellow students in mathematics as well, but I also held a position in our University Writing Center as a writing consultant. While there, I received the Most Valuable Consultant Award, the Above-and-Beyond Award, and the Writers’ Choice Award.
I found my time at the writing center to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career. Students would often specifically schedule appointments with me, and I was able to see their writing skills grow over the course of the school year through repeat visits. Building those relationships of trust and watching their abilities develop helped me to determine the real passion I have for tutoring.
