Marleigh's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I hold three college degrees and have 5 years of tutoring experience and 2 years of teaching experience. During my graduate work in English at the University of Washington, I taught Composition and Rhetoric to college freshman with a syllabus of my own design in a computer adapted classroom. I also tutored at both the University of Washington and the University of New Mexico working with students from many majors. Currently, I work as a nurse which allows me to use both the communication and mentoring skills I developed as a tutor and teacher. I believe in scaffolding lessons--building on existing knowledge and working toward larger goals. As a tutor and a teacher I am invested in meeting students at their level and ability and working to incorporate their interests.
