Ellen's Bio & Tutoring Experience
When I was an undergraduate student at SUNY Fredonia, I had multiple tutoring experiences. These tutoring experiences were my best experiences with students as an education major because I work well with students one-on-one or with small groups. While enrolled in these undergraduate classes, I recieved high marks. I really enjoy working with children on literacy and reading because they are important skills and the basis for other subjects. History is also one of my strong suits because I know many tricks for memorization and recall. I am also fairly proficient in French and would enjoy working with beginner to intermediate students. I have also worked with children at summer camps in the past. My tutoring methodology is "student-centered," meaning I will work with the student to make plans and guide them through said plan. Depending on the subject, I can teach elementary, middle or high school. However, I am most familiar with elementary-age students.
