I care about students, not only on the area of their educational success, but also their personal success. Effective teaching and meaningful learning occurs when instructors develop a professional, yet personal relationship with his or her students. It is highly gratifying to encourage, and then observe as students advance their personal growth through an increase in self-awareness and better application of principles and practices in their personal and academic lives. Elizabeth's Education & Certifications

First and foremost, I am a Language Arts major. This background includes training and knowledge of all subtopics in the teaching of English Language Arts, in grades Kindergarten through 8: Grammar, Reading, Writing and Vocabulary. In addition, two master's degrees, one in Educational Administration and another in Communication Studies, are evidence of my academic accomplishments in higher education. As a current instructor in Communication, I teach the basic introductory level speech course, "Fundamentals of Human Communication" in which the skills of public speaking preparation and delivery are taught and practiced.
