Ann's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I provide private, one-on-one tutoring for students who struggle or are looking to get ahead. Custom, conceptual long & short term goals are based on student interest and parent request. Service includes attendance at IEP meetings and parent teacher conferences, as well as working with current teachers and school district requirements.

No idea is too grand, no child is too far behind, and no academic goal is unattainable.

My tutoring is not for maintenance or homework help, but teaches students the tools necessary to achieve great things on their own.

I have been an independent private tutor in the Grand Valley since 2007, and have worked with a range of ages, grades, subjects, and special needs. Clients have included children with speech impediments, English as a Second Language, reading, basic math, algebra, GED study, and professional exams. I have been the primary subject teacher for students who are home schooled. I have worked remotely, in-home, on-location, and at my office.

I also teach classes and lead camps on topics ranging from crochet to LEGO stop-motion to architecture.

My Bachelor's degree was earned at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction in 2007, after working with professors to write my own independent studies and working as student teacher and tutor.

I previously attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan while working as a volunteer preschool teacher.

An honors graduate in high school, I included several psychology courses, upper-level math classes, and teaching programs that placed high school students in elementary classrooms (HiSTEP in St. Louis).
