Allison's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I was an excellent classroom instructor with teaching and coordinating experiences spanning preK to middle-school students. I worked primarily as a language arts/English teacher in both public and private schools, and I am trained in all areas (with an added reading endoresement) as a K-8 teacher. I have tutoring experience with all of the subjects, including study skills and management strategies. I have worked with students individually and in small groups, in their home, my home or in another setting, and have used Skype. I am able to achieve positive results because I am personable and can connect with students, and because I am knowledgable about classroom and state expectations and the subjects students are required to know. It won't take long to see results.

I have a BS in Elementary Education with an added Reading Endorsement from Indiana University Bloomington (1992). I have 18 hours of graduate credit from Universities of Texas, hours towards a Masters I did not complete because I chose to leave Texas and return to Cincinnati for my husband's career. The school district in which I taught was paying for that Masters degree, and I could not pick up the cost of completing it at that time. I have many, many, many hours of professional development and enrichment experiences, as well as years and years of actual classroom experiences.
