Tate's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I started tutoring in high school. My pre calculus class would help younger math students with their homework, which was usually algebra 1. Not much teaching was involved with this, but mostly helping them through assigned problems.

When I went abroad to Italy we had community service projects, and I choose to teach English to kindergarteners. Me and another individual would teach a class of about 25 students for 2 hours. Teaching methods included playing games, singing, arts and crafts, and reading books.

My most recent tutoring experience was in a research laboratory. I was the coordinator of the Neurocognitive lab at Lewis and Clark in the 2014-2015 school year. During the 2014 summer I was involved in a mentor program. I was a mentor for a recently graduated high school student who was interning at Lewis and Clark. I taught him experimental procedures, we studied subjects of psychology, and conducted psychological research.

I myself just graduated last May from Lewis and Clark College with a Bachelor of Psychology. I went abroad to Italy during my sophomore year at Lewis and Clark and I speak Italian at an intermediate level. I enjoy going fishing, hunting, and playing sports. I played football in college and still play rugby.

I attended school in Bend Oregon and graduated from Bend High School. After high school I attended Lewis and Clark College for my undergraduate degree where I received a Bachelor of Psychology. I also took courses in Biology and Chemistry while attending Lewis and Clark.
