Leanne's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I have extensive teaching experiencing as an adjunct professor, which has strengthened my ability to translate complex concepts and theories into a form that is accessible to different sets of students. My area of expertise is political science. More specifically, I focus on international relations, which include topics such as human rights, global governance, humanitarian disasters and civil war. I also have experience working with students on an individual basis, modifying the material to meet his or her needs and interests. In my teaching at both New York University and Fordham University (Lincoln Center), students have requested my services as an academic advisor. This role involved that I assist students in writing a research paper, focusing on structure, argumentation, and grammar. In each instance, my students successfully completed their final projects. Patience, a sense of humor and the willingness to try different approaches have all played an important role in my teaching.
