Jack's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I have a passion for teaching and believe that every student can be successful if they spend the time learning how to learn and how to study. I prefer the one-on-one type of teaching afforded by tutoring because it allows me to focus on one student's needs and tailor my questions and advice to that student.

While studying at the University of Colorado, I spent semesters in the Learning Assistant program (basically undergraduate teaching assistant positions) which later evolved into graduate teaching assistant positions where I led my own recitation of up to 30 students. After graduating, I stayed on at the university teaching introductory math and physics courses.

I graduated from the University of Colorado with a master's degree in physics (with a thesis in physics education research), a bachelor's degree in engineering physics, and a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics. I received the Outstanding Graduate in Service award for my tutoring, teaching, and otherwise helping my fellow students succeed in their classes.

I graduated from Fairview High School and earned the International Baccalaureate diploma for my success in the IB/AP courses. While at university, I returned to Fairview as a volunteer assistant in the AP/IB Physics I and II classes and in the AP Computing course.
