Debra's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Teaching is my calling. After almost 30 years of classroom instruction I am excited about the opportunity to work with students in a more individualized approach. I have worked in Special Education with Autistic students and in Early Childhood Education watching students learn the magic of reading and building literacy skills. Teaching students about this enormously diverse planet that we live on, I am competent in math, social studies and science for the elementary student. I communicate high expectations so that students, in turn, develop high expectations for themselves. Strong in my knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, I also keep in examination of the more recent Common Core Standards aligned with State Grade Level expectations. I modify instructional strategies to best meet the needs of the students I work with.
