Christopher's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I am an avid learner (double major and minor, working on my PhD) and a passionate teacher (9 years tutoring experience). My entire educational and professional experience has been marked by a love of knowledge (regardless of the topic), as well as a love of sharing what I have learned with others. If I have any fault, it is always trying to teach people the things I have learned (my wife would affirm)--but that is why tutoring is perfect for me! So some background:

While working on my undergraduate degree, I was a leader in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and a member of the University of Nebraska Honors Society. Both of these experiences gave me invaluable experience in teaching and tutoring.

In ROTC, I was placed in the most senior role, directly overseeing the training and education of over 100 students that would commission to become Air Force Officers after graduation. This involved planning, delivering, and following-up with classroom instructions on topics such as writing, history, and leadership. This gave me an appreciation for what is academically required from both a student's and instructor's perspective.

As an Honors Student, I was tasked with, among other things, tutoring 100 and 200 level courses in my fields of study. Since I graduated with degrees in Biotechnology and Physics with minors in Chemistry and Psychology (and did my honors colloquial course in history and theology) I had the opportunity to tutor in a very wide range of traditional academic topics.

Finally, as a parent, I have gained an appreciation for the importance of patience and tailoring educational approaches to the learner.
