In 2011 I retired from the Diocese of Toledo as a teacher of 31 years. My first 8 years of teaching were at St. Catherine School in Toledo and I taught 6th grade and one year of a combined 5/6 grade. My last 23 years were spent at Gesu School in Toledo where I taught 7/8 reading for two years, 5th grade for five years and 6th grade for sixteen years. I mainly taught Language Arts and Math. After my retirement, I took on subbing in a few districts in the Toledo area and in a charter school. I subbed in all grade levels from kindergarten through 6th grade. Many of my positions were long term since I was asked by many teachers to be the sub for their class. That leads me to my present job which is a full time educational aide and mentor at Kids Unlimited Academy in Toledo, Ohio. I subbed at this school last year and was asked by the principal if I would be interested in the lead aide position along with mentoring two new teachers. I currently plan reading lessons and am an aide for K,1,2 and 3 and plan math lessons for K-4 and am also an aide for these grades as well. I am truly enjoying this new position of mine. It is something totally unique to me.

I graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's of Education degree in December of 1979. I recently just completed a course on line to become a Highly Qualified Teacher of Math for my new position. Over the years I have taken many courses and attended many education workshops to keep up to date in my field of teaching.
