Amber's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Tutoring has never been something I considered to be a job. Working with people is a passion of mine. I love to work with people and I love to learn. In my experience I have learned that people learn in different ways and will recall information more readily if it has been personalized. When working with younger students I often find success in physically engaging the child with the subject matter. I have found that engaging all of the senses in children helps the child to retain the information. While working with adolescent students, I find that peer interaction is a great method of introducing material in their social setting. My experience comes form children who have requested my help; parents who have asked this of me, and peer study sessions. My philosophy is that no one has to know everything, only who to ask. Knowing what resources to use and were to find them is paramount for academic success.
